Lacy Lesesne Obituary

Life Story
In loving memory of our father Lacy Lesesne known as Big Daddy. He was born on April 26, 1930 to the late great Murry and Ada Lesesne, in Warsaw North Carolina. He was raised by the late great Willie and Lula Lesesne. Lacy was one of 24 children. He was educated in the North Carolina School System. He attended the Cornerstone Baptist Church, in Philadelphia. Lacy worked as a paving machine operator at Tony De Paul where he retired at age 62, in 1992.

 

He married his ex-wife Lenora (Mary) Robinson in South of the Broader, South Carolina. They came to live in Philadelphia in 1953 where they raised their children: Patrica, James, Janie, Mary and Marangi. 

 

On Monday May 25, 2020 our Heavenly Father saw that Lacy was getting tired. He dispatched an angel from heaven to take him home from suffering to rest at home surrounded by family and loved ones. Lacy has finished his work here on earth. He was known as a no nonsense kind man, who enjoyed watching sports especially the the Philadelphia Phillies, his stories and old western shows. Lacy also liked trips to the casino, playing lottery and loved them scratch offs with his coffee. His vibrant personality and humorous way of telling his life experiences always brought tears of joy and laughter to all of our hearts. He was the patriarch of our family.  He was a great provider and gave guidance to his family in the most honest way and that’s why he was loved and respected by so many. Lacy liked to travel to North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia with his grand and great grandchildren to visit family and friends.

 

He was proceeded in death by 17 siblings, one granddaughter and one great granddaughter.

 

Loving memories will always be cherish by his children; Patrica Moore, James Lesesne, Janie Taylor, Mary (Diane) Lesesne-Cooke, and Marangi Lesesne. One daughter-in-law Kate Lesesne, three son-in-law‘s Ronald Taylor, Richard Cooke and Troy Forman. His sisters Winnie Yellock-George, Diane Herring and Perlene Herring. His brothers Kenneth Cooper, Murry Lesesne, Alphonza Lesesne, Reginald Lesesne. One brother-in-law Donald Herring. Four Sister-in-laws Sandra Cooper, Latisha Lesesne, Wanda Lesesne and Betsy Lesesne. Seven grandsons; Clayton, Derrick, Tyrone, Steven, Jerome, Tyrique and Elliot. Ten granddaughters; Lisa, Barbara, Colleen, Lenora, Teneisha, Nifeesa, Diane, Chikila, Charnaye, and Tikilia. 35 great grandchildren, and host of great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and special loved ones.
