Kevin Lamar Berry was born on July 16, 1974 to William and Geraldine Berry. He was the second of four siblings to that union. He was predeceased by his brother Hayward in 1992. He would later gain three more siblings.
Kevin was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness. As a young adult he studied and embraced Islam. He faithfully practiced his Muslim faith until his death.
Kevin spent his elementary and middle school years in the Philadelphia school system. As a teenager he attended Penn Wood High and Bartram High schools. Because of his talent in art he was accepted to the creative and performance arts high school where he studied visual arts. He graduated in 1992.
As a child, he was very active. He loved music, dancing, and making people laugh. Kevin was a prankster. From a very young age he displayed his natural ability for art.
Kevin was well loved and respected by everyone. Not prone to anger, he always displayed a pleasant, cheerful demeanor regardless of his situation. Because of this, he had many friends. A man of many talents, Kevin worked many jobs even as a disc jockey.
Kevin leaves to mourn their loss one daughter, his father Nabil (Ijlal); mother Geraldine, sisters: Nina, Ayishah, Megan, Alison Martin, Ni’mat Hasan and Hadiyah Hasan. Four aunts: Lois Storey (Harold), Shirley Dunmeyer, Marilyn Skinner Jones, and Catherine Hardy. One niece, Five nephews. A host of cousins, friends and a loving stepmother Carol Berry.
